I have been totally cracking up reading about everyone's blogger pet peeves! I also got a little worried because I'm pretty new to blogging and was sure that I was committing some of these "blogging sins". First off, I am so sorry for having the word verification turned on when commenting on my blog posts. I had no idea! After reading this tutorial from Rachelle at What the Teacher Wants, I figured out how to turn this annoying thing off. No more trying over and over again to spell a nonsense word that you can't even read!
Okay, now that I've apologized, here are two of my blogging pet peeves:
1. Word verifier: No one wants to try and retry spelling a nonsense word just to leave a blog comment. (I'm so glad I learned how to fix this!)
2. Music: Oh my, this one really gets to me. I'm scrolling through blogs, completely relaxed and then all of a sudden... BAM! Music comes blaring through my computer speakers as soon as I click on someone's blog. I know some people may love this, but it drives me nuts! I instantly start looking for an "off" button to click and if I can't find one easily, I usually leave.
So what are some of your blogger pet peeves? Link up and share- I'd love to read them (and make sure I'm not commiting any more of them!)
Thanks for stopping by my blog!! I totally forgot to say music. That drives me a little crazy too when I jump a mile high after clicking on a blog & the music comes blaring out of my computer speakers!

Learning Is Something to Treasure
I have never experienced the music on blogs one before, but it would definitely frustrate me too. I don't like being suprised...aka scared... when I am surfing the web or any other time for that matter. haha

Hey Erin! I just found your blog through a post you made on the TpT forum. I agree about the music.... how obnoxious!! My volume is usually turned off for this reason. I've gone to some blogs and the music is so random. It makes me double think even reading the blog. haha

Dirty Hands and Lesson Plans
I didn't even realize people could put music on their blog. The music buff in me is now wondering what they play-is it like Raffi? Maybe Working for the Weekend? :) I wouldn't even begin to know how to do that.

Hello! I just found your blog. I too dislike the music for the same reason.
ReplyDeleteI'm also new to blogging, so it's nice to have a heads up about the "what not to do" in the blog world.

Hi Erin! I just found your blog through your TPT store. I am also a second grade teacher from Ohio {near Toledo} and next year will be my 6th year of teaching, so we have a lot in common! I just started blogging this week and would love for you to stop by.
ReplyDeletePS: Totally agree with your blogger pet peeves!
